It's very easy to use Smart Protector (SP). You can permanently erase history and other Internet activity tracks by clicking the Erase button.
Which Operating System permissions do I need to install to use Smart Protector?
No special permissions are required for Windows 95/98/ME user. On Windows NT/2000/XP, you should log in as an Administrator or Power user. You do not need special permission to use the software. However, you must have "write" permissions on the specific objects (files, folders) to destroy them, which is when your file is located on an NTFS partition. You cannot destroy a file if you don't have permission to access it.
Can Smart Protector erase temporary files such as form cache and browser Internet cookies?
Yes, Smart Protector can erase history, Temporary Internet files, cookies, favorites, and whatever you specify in Smart Protector Settings.
Can Smart Protector permanently erase index.dat files that are in the cookies and other folders?
Smart Protector erases contents of index.dat files, such as temporary Internet files, history, and so forth. However, removing this file itself is not possible because it's constantly in use by the operating system. Index.dat files are erased by default. Just select the appropriate check boxes in Smart Protector settings, such as Cookies and Temporary Internet Files.
Can Smart Protector preserve the history, start page, and recent documents of people who have used the computer before me?
Yes. Smart Protector opens when you begin browsing and press the Save State button. Smart Protector will automatically save everything. When you finish browsing, open Smart Protector again and press the Restore State button. It is as simple as that!
I'm using an anonymous service, do I still need Smart Protector?
Yes, of course. Smart Protector protects you from users having direct access to your computer because you share one office or home. Anonymous services will cloak your system from the Internet.
Should my computer be connected to the Internet to use your software?
No. You need a connection to the Internet only when you are downloading the software.

I have just purchased Smart Protector and can't find the download area.
After the user has completed the online order form and the credit card has been authorized, a temporary and unique download link where the program can be downloaded immediately from our server will be shown in the user's browser on the confirmation screen. We assign each order a unique download link, which automatically expires after 14 days. We also send customers the link via e-mail for their documentation. Customers paying by other means, such as cash or check, receive an email with the link only after we have received payment in full.
How do I know what is safe to erase?
Smart Protector is configured to remove only safe locations.
